What is Be Musix?
Be Musix is a music and video distribution company that helps independent artists and labels release content to 30+ DSPs worldwide while keeping 100% ownership of their masters and compositions.
Is it really free to start?
Yes. The entry tier costs nothing to onboard — no setup fees, no annual cost — and includes free distribution to all major DSPs. Premium services like full VEVO setup, advanced rights protection and publishing administration may use plan-based pricing.
Do I keep ownership of my music?
Always. Be Musix never takes ownership of your masters, compositions or trademarks. You authorize us only to administer rights and collect eligible revenue on your behalf — nothing more.
How long does account approval take?
Most accounts are reviewed within 24–48 hours. Submission quality, complete metadata and clear ownership documentation help speed up the process.
Can record labels join?
Yes. Labels can manage multi-artist rosters, multiple releases, contributor splits and consolidated reporting through one dashboard with the appropriate plan tier.
Can I switch from another distributor?
Yes. Catalog migration is supported when ISRC, UPC, splits and metadata are matched correctly. Our onboarding team can help you map your existing catalog.
Do you provide customer support?
Yes — email, contact form, ticket support and WhatsApp. Real people, not just bots, available across timezones for release setup, metadata changes and account issues.
Are there hidden fees?
No hidden charges. Any fee or revenue share structure is clearly listed on the pricing page and inside your distribution agreement.
Do I need a credit card to start?
Not for the free entry tier. A payment method is only required when you upgrade to a paid plan that unlocks premium services.
Is my account information protected?
Yes. We use SSL/TLS encryption in transit, restricted internal access and standard security controls. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
Can I take down my music later?
Yes. Voluntary takedowns can be submitted from your dashboard. A small administrative fee may apply per release for voluntary takedowns; DMCA / valid legal takedowns are always free.
What countries do you operate in?
Be Musix delivers to 180+ countries through partner DSPs. Anyone with a valid bank, bKash or Payoneer account can sign up worldwide.

Music Distribution · 15 questions

Which platforms will my music be delivered to?
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Tidal, Amazon Music, Deezer, SoundCloud, Pandora, Anghami, Boomplay, JioSaavn, Beatport (eligible) and 30+ regional DSPs.
What audio format do you accept?
High-quality WAV (16-bit or 24-bit, 44.1 kHz+) or FLAC files for best DSP acceptance. MP3 is not recommended for masters.
What artwork size should I use?
3000 × 3000 px square JPG or PNG, RGB color, under 10MB. No URLs, contact info, social handles or QR codes inside the artwork — most DSPs reject those.
Do you provide ISRC and UPC codes?
Yes. ISRC and UPC are issued for eligible releases at no extra charge. You can also bring your own existing codes to maintain catalog continuity.
How long does it take for my release to go live?
Most major DSPs ingest releases within 2–7 business days after approval. Submit at least 14 days before release date so DSPs can prepare editorial pitch and pre-save pages.
Can I schedule a future release date?
Yes. Future scheduling is recommended — it enables pre-save links, pre-orders and editorial consideration on supported platforms.
Can I distribute singles, EPs and albums?
Yes — singles (1 track), EPs (2–6 tracks) and albums (7+ tracks) are all supported with appropriate metadata.
What happens if my release gets rejected?
You receive the rejection reason (commonly artwork issues, metadata problems or audio quality). Fix the issue and resubmit — no penalty for resubmissions.
Can I update metadata after submission?
Some metadata can be updated after release (artist name corrections, genre, language). Audio files cannot usually be replaced once delivered without a new release.
Do you support TikTok and Reels music libraries?
Yes. Eligible audio is delivered to TikTok, Instagram Reels and Facebook short-form audio libraries where supported.
Do you support Dolby Atmos / Spatial Audio?
Delivery is possible for supported platforms when you provide a properly authored Dolby Atmos master. Available on selected plan tiers.
What genres do you accept?
All major and niche genres — pop, hip-hop, R&B, EDM, classical, folk, lo-fi, world, religious and more, as long as content meets DSP and policy guidelines.
Can I reuse the same audio in a new release?
Yes, but be careful with metadata and ISRC. Re-releases of identical masters can trigger duplicate-content flags on DSPs if not handled correctly.
Can I distribute a cover song?
Yes, with proper mechanical license. We can guide you through the licensing process for major territories where required.

Video & VEVO · 12 questions

What is Be Musix Video Distribution?
Delivery of official music videos, lyric videos and visualizers to YouTube, Apple Music, Tidal and other supported video destinations alongside your audio release.
What is Free VEVO Distribution and who is eligible?
VEVO is YouTube's premium music video network. Eligibility depends on your channel and release history. We review submissions and onboard eligible artists with no setup cost.
How long does video review take?
Typical 3–7 business days for first-pass review, then platform delivery time (often 24–72 hours after approval) depending on DSP queues.
Can I monetize my music videos?
Yes. Monetization depends on platform rules, channel status and content eligibility. YouTube videos can also be paired with Content ID administration for UGC revenue.
What is an Official Artist Channel (OAC)?
An OAC is a verified, unified YouTube channel that combines your official uploads, Topic content, Shorts and releases. We help eligible artists apply for OAC status.
Can I submit lyric videos and visualizers?
Yes. Lyric videos, animated visualizers, audio canvas videos and behind-the-scenes content are all supported where platforms allow.
Can I have logos or watermarks on my video?
VEVO and DSPs prefer clean visuals. Subtle artist logos are usually fine; promotional URLs, social handles and CTAs inside the video are commonly rejected.
Can I submit multiple videos for one song?
Yes — typically one official video, one lyric video and one visualizer per track, with clear metadata to avoid platform conflicts.
Do you support YouTube Shorts?
Eligible audio is included in the YouTube Shorts music library, and Shorts using your music can contribute to the Shorts Music Revenue Sharing pool when administered through Content ID.
What audio quality should the video have?
Use the same mastered audio as your DSP release, properly synced. Bitrate of 320 kbps AAC or higher is recommended for video delivery.
Do I keep ownership of my videos?
Yes — same as audio. You keep all ownership; we handle delivery, metadata, monetization administration and reporting on your behalf.

YouTube & Rights · 13 questions

What is YouTube Content ID and how does it help me?
Content ID is YouTube's automated system that scans every upload against your audio fingerprints. When matches are found, you can monetize, track or block — capturing UGC revenue from covers, edits, Shorts and reactions.
How long until my catalog is fingerprinted on YouTube?
Typically 5–10 business days after eligibility review. Historical UGC matches start appearing in reports within 14–30 days.
Are Shorts monetized through Content ID?
Yes. Eligible Shorts using your music contribute to the YouTube Shorts Music Revenue Sharing pool. Earnings depend on total Shorts ad revenue, music share allocation and your usage volume.
What is rights management?
Active protection of your masters, compositions and artist identity across YouTube, Meta, TikTok, Spotify and 30+ platforms — fingerprinting, monitoring, takedowns, dispute handling.
Can you handle Meta Rights Manager (Facebook & Instagram)?
Yes. Eligible catalogs can be submitted to Meta Rights Manager so unauthorized uses on Facebook and Instagram are detected and policy-handled the same way YouTube Content ID works.
What happens if my music is falsely claimed by someone else?
Our claims team helps you draft and submit a counter-notice or dispute, gather ownership evidence and escalate the case to the platform until your monetization is restored.
Can I whitelist channels to allow them to use my music?
Yes. Your personal channel, brand accounts, sync partners or selected creators can be whitelisted so they never receive Content ID claims on your music.
How fast can you take down infringing uploads?
Most YouTube and Meta takedowns are actioned within 24 hours of detection. TikTok and SoundCloud average 24–72 hours. Pre-release leaks are emergency-prioritized within 4–12 hours.
Do you handle sample disputes and AI cover removals?
Yes — sample-based disputes, lyric clones and AI-generated voice clones are part of the standard rights management workflow when evidence supports a valid claim.
What is music publishing and do I need it?
Publishing covers royalties for the composition (lyrics + melody), separate from the master recording. If you wrote the song, you should administer publishing to collect those royalties globally.
What are mechanical and performance royalties?
Mechanical royalties come from reproductions/streams of your composition. Performance royalties come from public performances (radio, TV, live, streaming). Both are publishing-side income.
Can I register co-writers and split sheets?
Yes — multi-writer split sheets, contributor roles and ISWC registration are supported through the publishing module for accurate global collection.
What is sync licensing?
Sync licensing is the use of music in films, TV shows, ads, games and video productions. We help prepare your catalog with clear ownership for sync opportunities.

Payouts & Tax · 12 questions

How much of my revenue do I keep?
You keep 70% of Net Receipts after DSP fees, mechanical rights and applicable taxes. For direct download and merch sales, you keep up to 90% net of payment processor fees, depending on plan tier.
When do I get paid?
Royalties are reported monthly. Statements are issued between the 1st–5th of the second month after revenue is earned (e.g., January earnings reported in March). Payouts process between the 15th–20th if balance exceeds $50.
What payout methods are supported?
Bank Transfer (worldwide), bKash (Bangladesh) and Payoneer (worldwide). Choose your preferred method during onboarding or from the dashboard.
What is the minimum payout amount?
USD 50 minimum balance. Earnings below this carry over to the next month until the threshold is reached.
How are taxes handled?
You submit a W-9 (US) or W-8BEN (non-US) once during onboarding. We apply the correct withholding automatically and provide year-end statements you can use for filing in your country.
Why is my reported revenue lower than expected?
DSPs report revenue 30–60 days after the consumption month, and rates vary by territory, season, advertiser demand, content category and audience demographics. UGC revenue also splits when multiple parties are involved.
Can I see per-track or per-territory breakdowns?
Yes. Monthly statements include per-track, per-territory, per-platform and per-content-type breakdowns visible in your dashboard.
What if a payout fails?
Failed payouts are flagged in your dashboard, the balance is restored and our finance team contacts you to update payment details. No funds are lost.
Can I change my payout method later?
Yes — update your payout method anytime from the Backstage dashboard. Changes apply to the next scheduled payout cycle.
How long before fraudulent or held royalties are released?
If artificial streaming or fraud is suspected, royalties may be held for up to 6 months while platforms investigate. If cleared, funds are released; if confirmed, royalties may be forfeited per the distribution agreement.
Do you provide invoices for the royalty income?
Yes. Be Musix issues self-billing invoices on your behalf as authorized in the distribution agreement. Year-end summary statements are also available.
Can I audit Be Musix's royalty records?
Yes — once per calendar year with 30 days written notice. If an underpayment greater than 10% is found, Be Musix reimburses audit costs up to USD 3,000.
